Create your own Pineapple Plant

Many of you might not know that you can make your own pineapple plant simply from the pineapple itself.
First, buy a pineapple that looks good.

Next, look at the top of the pineapple. See the part that looks like a plant? Grab it at the base and twist it until it comes off of the fruit

Once twisted off, gently pull off all of the dead looking leaves near the base. This should reveal several roots.
Lastly, find a vase to put your pineapple plant. You want to leave it in water for about a month, giving it time for the roots to grow.

When the roots finally grow to be substantially long enough, transport the plant into a pot with soil. It will take your plant about a year to start bearing fruit. Happy planting!
